Unlock Dataflow documents

If a user has a document open for editing, it will be locked and inaccessible for other users to edit.

However, there may be occasions when documents appear to be in use while this is not the case, which prevents users from editing them. If this happens, the documents need to be unlocked.

Users can unlock their own documents if they open them and click the Unlock Document button at the top of the document.

If the document is locked by somebody other than the person trying to unlock it, a Tenant Administrator (or other authorised user) is required to unlock it.

Note: If you are trying to unlock a price deck or currency deck, click the Unlock Currency Decks button in the Currency Management tab on the ribbon. For more information, see Unlock currency decks and Unlock a price deck.

Document Lock Management

Note: Access to this function requires the role 'Documents – Unlock' (see Roles).

For version 16.5 Update 22 and later: The list of locked documents is filtered according to the access permissions of the current user for each locked document; the user will not be able to view documents for which they are not granted 'Read' access. This means that the 'Documents - Unlock' role can be safely granted to users who have restricted access to the document hierarchy.

There is a Document Lock Management function in the Dataflow Configuration workspace; click the Unlock Documents button on the ribbon to open it. This function shows all currently-locked documents with details about the type and location, the user who locked it, and locking time.

Documents are unlocked by clicking the Unlock button next to each document name. For multiple documents, you can check the box at the left-hand side of each document, and click the Unlock button on the ribbon.

Once a document is unlocked, it becomes available for editing. However, you should be careful when using this function since unlocking will result in unsaved changes being lost. Thus, you should first of all confirm that it is not currently in use.
